Points/Descriptors 5Music assigned for the weekly sectional lesson is performed with superior technical achievement. Exemplary tone quality and intonation are evident. Preparation of the lesson is outstanding.
4Student often demonstrates technical proficiency on music assigned for the weekly sectional lesson. Despite occasional lapses, intonation is consistent throughout the lesson.
Preparation of the lesson is obvious. 3A focused tone is present; however, consistency of tone and pitch becomes a concern. Student demonstrates moderate success in handling of technical demands on music assigned for the weekly sectional lessons.
Appropriate preparation of the lesson is lacking. 2Numerous individual technical problems (constant starting and stopping) on music assigned for the weekly sectional lesson. Student demonstrates uncharacteristic tone quality with no improvement.
Preparation of the lesson is non-existent.Weekly sectional grade pts x 2 = _____ All sectional grades will be then be averaged and calculated at the end of each marking period. This will represent 50% of the band grade (see syllabus) for the marking period.
