CAMP HILL BAND BOOSTERS
STUDENT SALES/TRIP CREDITS
2006-2007

Word doc. version

Purpose:
In order to prevent confusion and misunderstanding, the following policies have been established to govern the accumulation of credits for the sale of fudge and similar activities for the members of the Camp Hill 7/8 Grade Band and Senior High Band, Color Guard and Managers. Credit can also be earned for service activities as outlined below:

CREDIT POLICIES:

  1. A student will earn one credit for each box of fudge sold.
  2. A student will earn one credit for each box of pizza/cinnamon buns sold.
A student will earn one credit for every $100 Giant or Karns certificates sold up to February 25, 2007 (certificates sold after February 25, 2007
apply to the Spring trip of 2008).
  3. A student will earn one credit for each hour of approved service. Service activities include working the fudge weekend, distributing pizza/cinnamon buns, time spent as a student music librarian, and time in other activities as determined by the band director. A total of 20 hours for Senior High students and a total of 10 hours for 7/8 grade students per year can be earned working fudge, pizza/cinnamon buns, library, etc. In order to earn credit for service activities, the activity must be approved in advance by the band director.
  4. Credits will be earned for one school year only.
  5. Credits may not be transferred between students who are not in the same family.
  6. A $1.00 cash incentive will be awarded for every box of fudge sold over the quota. This is actual boxes sold and does not include any credits earned by service hours, pizza/cinnamon buns, or Giant and Karns certificates.

QUOTAS
The executive committee has set the trip credits at 25 for all 7/8 Grade Band and Color Guard members and 85 credits for all Senior High Band, Color Guard and Managers. Each hour of approved service (as defined above) from any band member or parent/guardian of a band member can be used as one credit toward the total quota for that student. Fudge work hours will be determined at a later date but are not to exceed 10 hours for Senior High members. 7/8 Grade Band members do not participate in the making of fudge but may qualify for set-up and clean-up hours if they are available. Hours worked can be by the band member or parent/guardian only. Families with more than one student in the same band going on the band trip will be entitled to a reduction in the credits according to the following rules: If you have a senior and a freshman and only the freshman is going on the trip, then the freshman is considered your first student and must meet the full quota.

1. The student will meet 100% of the quota (85 Sr – 25 7/8)
2. The second student will meet 75% of the quota (65 Sr – 18 7/8)
3. Each subsequent student will meet 50% of the quota (45 Sr – 13 7/8).

Students failing to meet their trip credits may still attend the band activities by contributing $5.00 in place of each credit not earned.
