High School Band

The Camp Hill High School Instrumental Music course includes Marching and Concert Band. Students participating are expected to also attend a weekly sectional. Also offered at Camp Hill are several extra-curricular performing groups: Jazz Band, Holiday Cheer Ensemble, Basketball Pep Band, and Pit Orchestra.

Extra-curricular activities include:

Holiday Cheer open to any student in grades 9 through 12. The ensemble performs traditional Holiday Carols with limited amount of rehearsals. Additional performances will be decided among members.

Basketball Pep Band Basketball open to any 9-12 student. Ensemble performs at selected home basketball games in January. Rehearsals are held prior to game. A minimum of 20 students is necessary for ensemble to fly. Additional game(s) may be added

Pit Orchestra open to any 9-12 student. Ensemble performs music for the Spring musical, Musicman! Some woodwind written transposition may be required. Music is actual books performed on Broadway!

Jazz Band
open to any 9-12 student. Flute players will have to do some written transposition. Due to balancing of instrumentation, Sr. Jazz Band is an “audition” ensemble.

Goals: Improvisations, variety of music, swing style, performances.

Bring a pencil to all rehearsals

Set up for rehearsals begins15 minutes prior to rehearsal

Students must provide black shoes, black pants, and black socks. School will provide Tux shirt, cummerbund, and bow ties.

Auditions: Early December
Rehearsals: Mondays from early December until May. 6:30-8:30 (an occasional Tuesday or Wednesday also)
Performances: TBA. approx. 7-8 scheduled
